GB Energie LED Provides Industry Leading LED Lighting Solutions to Leesburg Executive Airport

Lighting distributor provides Revolution Lighting Technologies’ LED solutions to reduce energy costs and optimize light levels throughout interior and exterior of airport; retrofit project expected to reduce airport’s annual lighting energy use by 60%

WASHINGTON D.C. – January, 2016 – GB Energie LED, a minority, woman-owned business committed to sourcing sustainable energy solutions, today announced the completion of an LED retrofit project for Leesburg Executive Airport in Leesburg, Va. The project included the installation of LED lighting solutions within the terminal, as well as all exterior building lighting and throughout the parking lots to improve lighting levels, increase energy efficiency and decrease maintenance costs with a return on investment of just more than four years.

GB Energie LED’s comprehensive “turnkey” services included the detailed testing and evaluation of Revolution Lighting’s LED solutions, concluding the retrofit project will result in an increase in energy efficiency by more than 60%. Additionally, LED lighting would improve light output throughout external areas like parking lots, while providing a better quality of light throughout interior areas such as the terminal. After the initial stages of project development, GB Energie LED worked closely with Leesburg Executive Airport to manage all phases of the LED retrofit project, including scope and budget development, final material selection, pursuit of project incentives, bidding, and project management.

Revolution Lighting’s industry leading LED solutions have a rated lamp life of more than 70,000 hours – three times longer than conventional lighting – and a market-leading 10-year warranty, providing significant long-term maintenance and energy savings for Leesburg Executive Airport. The project is projected to save more than $900,000 in energy costs over the first 10 years.
